We use a hands-on approach and physically cull and organize your collection of photos, videos, or any memorabilia chronologically. We also offer the option to organize and store your memories in archival boxes to ensure they are properly preserved for decades to come.

PPO Services Include:

  • Inventory & assessment of media

  • Sorting and culling of inventory chronologically or in another meaningful manner

  • One-on-one work with the client as needed

  • Selecting, purchasing, and organizing original photos and other physical media into containers that are appropriate for the level of preservation required

  • Advising in the selection of which photos and media are most important to digitize, as in some cases, digitizing the entire collection is not necessary.

You may have anywhere from a few thousand to half a million (or even more!) digital photo, audio, and video files scattered among several old phones, computers, hard drives, and/or cloud service. When we all started taking digital photos, organizing them was not in the forefront of our minds, and we had no idea how many photos we’d eventually accumulate nor how much technology and software would change over the years.

Digital Photo Organization is complicated, and the solution that is right for your best friend might not be the right solution for you and your family.

That’s where we come in. We work with you to understand your goals, your use cases, etc. and then using best practices, we consolidate, organize, and clean up your entire digital media collection and provide you with at least three back-ups.

Scan & Convert

At Luminta, we are experts at digitizing physical photographs, slides and negatives, as well as videos such as VHS, CD, 8mm, etc. Digitizing your photos and videos is a great way to preserve and protect them, make them easily accessible and shareable, and give yourself peace of mind knowing your memories will be safe forever.

  • Simple cropping and image corrections (standard with all scanning)

  • Basic chronological organizations of all new digital images

  • Videos converted into MP4 and Audio into MP3 format so that they can be viewed on most devices.

It is not uncommon for scanning projects to require services in addition to our Baseline Scanning Services.   • Descriptive content that needs to be coupled with the new digital images we have scanned 

  • Your Photos, Slides, and/or Negative are Not "Scan-Ready"

  • Additional Digital Photo Corrections and/or Touch-Ups are Requested by Client or Suggested by Luminta

PLEASE NOTE

Smaller scale scanning, conversion & transfer projects are often part of the larger scale projects we undertake which comprise the majority of our work. Because we are a small company and very hands-on, we may not be able to accommodate stand-alone smaller scale scanning, conversion, & transfer projects that are not a part of a larger DPO or PPO project.  Please consult with us for more information.

Now that your photos and videos are culled, organized, digitized, and converted, you want to be able to share and enjoy them! This means they need to be safe and easy for you to access. We will work closely with you to determine what sharing options best match your goals, style, and preferences.

Discovery Meeting

All projects begin with a free 20-minute introductory conversation (usually over Zoom) regarding your specific needs. On this consult, we will discuss your specific organizational or management needs. Feel free to prepare as much information as possible for us to understand how we can help you reach your end goal. Our Photo Management Process

20 Minute Discovery Meeting

In our first meeting, we'll have a detailed discussion on your vision for the photo management project. A few things to consider before our meeting:

  • What format are your photos in? Are they physical photos, videos / VHS, or digital?

  • If digital across what devices are your photos in?

  • What quality or state are your photos in? Are they pristine? Damaged? Delicate?

  • Is your media inside or attached to something (such as a photo album or individual envelopes)?

While it’s useful to bring as much information as you can to our discovery meeting, don’t worry if you don’t know the answers to any of this! That’s why we’re here!

Following our meeting, should you want to move forward with our services, our team will be sending you a proposal with a contract and an invoice for a deposit.

Media delivery, intake and basic inventory

In order for us to begin your project, we will need to receive your photos! We can arrange for delivery of photos in a few ways: Local pickup, shipping & delivery and/or digital dropboxes. Once we receive your media, our work begins with doing a basic inventory check.

Management, Edit & Organization

Our work commences with a variety of methods. This includes culling, removing duplicates, and arranging your photos into a logical and easily understandable photo system.

We can also improve the searchability of your photos by implementing a keyword system where you can find and search your entire digital library by date, location, person, activity, or anything else that is important to you.

Digital & physical storage of your media for 120 days

Following the completion of your media, our team will take you through a simple offboarding process where we teach you how to access and understand our your new photo archives. Your photos will be saved into a online folder that is easily accessible to download for free for 120 days. 

Sharing Services

Depending on whether and which of our Sharing Services you select, we may be building your sharing platform and/or designing books for you, and more! Upon completion of these projects, we will discuss with you ongoing maintenance and/or tutorial programs to help you and your family enjoy your photos and videos for years to come!

Pricing

We charge $125/hour for our time, and require a minimum of 10 hours for most projects.
